Kathmandu | Nepal is hosting Yemen in AFC Asian Cup 2019 Qualification at APF ground, Halchowk today at 3 PM. The Group F also comprises of the Philippines and Tajikistan. Nepal's defensive display has been major concern lately as it had conceded four goals in the continental competition's qualifiers away clash against the Philippines on March 28 and two more goals in its defeat to India in a friendly played in Mumbai on June 6.

Anfa has handed over all the ticket management responsibilities to ‘esewa’ setting a prize of Rs 1,000 for each ticket. The tickets will only be sold online with the booking to open from Saturday. The low attendance is a big irony for the most popular sport in the country that once accommodated more than 17,000 supporters at the Dashrath Stadium. Nepali captain Maharjan said that improving defensive performance and keeping clean sheet against Yemeni side will be the main objective. “Failing to play with proper awareness and alertness had cost us dear in the last two matches but this time we won't repeat the mistakes. We have to keep clean sheet in this home match or else it will be very hard in the away match,” added Maharjan. He also said that fullback Rabin Shrestha who is out due to injury and suspended deep-lying midfielder Bikram Lama will be missed greatly.

Yemen coach Mebratu said he was aware about Nepali football team which had improved a lot and was getting better. “I know Nepali football since 2012 when our youth team played against them. And we also played an international friendly match in 2014. They are stronger side and we have respect for the team,” said Mebratu.
