Nepali women's faces 5th Defeat in a row
Kathmandu : Nepali national women's cricket team faced yet another defeat Friday Test nation India by 99 Runs in the ACC Women's Twenty20 Asia Cup. With this win India entered the finals of the tournament.
Chasing the 121-run target put up by India in the first innings, Nepal Women could not pull off any heroics, getting bundled out for a paltry 21. None of the batters could get to a double digit score the highest run-getter being Sarita Magar with 6 runs. The entire batting failed, and there was hardly any fight. Of the 21 runs they scored, 7 runs came from extras as the Indian bowlers bowled 7 wides. this is lowest score in International Women's Cricket history.
Earlier, Indian players scored 120 runs losing 5 wickets Shikha Pandey (not out) scored highest 39 runs for India with five 4s off 32 balls. Similarly, Vellaswamy Vanitha scored 21 runs off 14 balls and Anuja Patil scored 16 runs off 18 balls. Nepal Women’s skipper Rubina Chhetry was the most successful bowlers, as she took 2 wickets while Sita Magar and Karuna Bhandary bagged a wicket each.
Nepal had crashed to low totals of 47 (against Pakistan), 23 (against Sri Lanka) and 41 (against Bangladesh) in the first three matches. India maintain their unbeaten tag in this tournament.
