Nepali squad announced for U19 World Cup Qualifier

Kathmandu: Nepali u-19 squad announced today for upcoming Asian leg of ICC World Cup Qualifier to be held in Singapore starting from July 17. Sandeep Lamichhane is set to continue as the captain and Dipendra Singh Airee Vice captain of the team. A selection committee headed by Venkatapathi Raju, who is the Chief Development Officer of ICC-Asia, Nepal head coach Jagat Tamatta and U-19 team coach Binod Das selected the squad for the July tournament. The announcement came soon after Nepal concluded the recent five practice matches series in Greater Noida.

The tournament is the gateway to the 2018 U-19 World Cup. Nepal open with a clash against hosts Singapore on July 17. Nepal then play Malaysia (July 18, 24) and Afghanistan (July 20, 25) before playing Singapore against for the second time on July 21. Only the top team qualify for the U-19 World Cup in New Zealand.
