Dhurmus Suntali Mushar Basti Handover
Kathmandu : Dhurmus Suntali Foundation handed over Musahar Settlement constructed to the community on Nepali New Year 2074. Sitaram Kattel of Dhurmus-Suntali Foundation informed this at an all-party meeting organized at Bardibas Sunday. Madan Krishna Shrestha and Hari Bansha Acharya jointly had laid the foundation stone for the Integrated Musahar Settlement on January 9 this year. A total of 50 houses for Musahar families, one community building, two public toilets, view tower and a temple of Dinbhadri have been constructed at the settlement.
Comedian duo Madan Krishna Shrestha and Hari Bansha Acharya handed over the keys to Biltu Sada, chairperson of Integrated Musahar Settlement Protection Committee, amid a function at Bardibas today. On the occasion Chief Secretary Som Lal Subedi expressed his commitment to cooperate with the Foundation to provide quality education, health and other services to the community. According to the foundation, one house was built at the cost of Rs 800,000. Around Rs 50 million, collected through financial support from Nepal and abroad, have been invested to construct the Integrated Musahar Settlement.
The settlement, built at a cost of Rs 50 million, has 50 independent houses, one community building, two public toilets, a view tower, a children’s park and a temple. The foundation is the brainchild of Sitaram Kattel, popularly known as Dhurmus, and Kunjana Ghimire of Suntali fame.
