Pakistan U-23 vs Nepal | ACC Emerging Cup 2017
Kathmandu : Nepali cricket team will Start their campaign of the ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup against the Pakistan U-23 team today at the Sheikh Kamal Cricket Stadium in Coxs Bazar, Bangladesh.Nepali team has a mixture of young and experienced players and it has rested four veterans of the team including regular skipper Paras Khadka,Sompal Kami, Basant Regmi and Shakti Gauchan.
Nepal, who just beat Kenya at home in the second match of the ICC World Cricket League. As Pakistan’s national squad kick-start their tour of the West Indies on Sunday, the U23 side, with some senior players, allowed under ACC rules, are in Dhaka ready for the fixture against Nepal. Group A consists of Afghanistan, India, Malaysia and Sri Lanka. Top two teams from either group will make it to the knockout stage.
Pakistan will be a tough opponent for Nepal. However, Nepali coach Jagat Tamata is optimistic of a 'surprising' outcome. “We were in the training camp for WCL matches against Kenya for a long time and the players are in good form. But all the teams of the group including Test sides Pakistan and Bangladesh and fellow associate Hong Kong are strong teams,” Tamata Add. Top two teams from each of the groups will play in the semifinals at ZACS in Chittagong on April 1 and the final match will be held on March 3 at the same venue.
