Kathmandu : Nepali national cricket team is taking on Bangladesh U23 in Second match of ACC Emerging Teams Cup being held at the Sheikh Kamal International Cricket Stadium Academy Ground No 2 in Cox Bazaar, Bangladesh.
The 2017 ACC Emerging Cup features U-23 teams from eight countries. It’ll see Asian Test giants – India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and hosts Bangladesh – play against the likes of upcoming associates Afghanistan, UAE, Hong Kong and Nepal. As per rules, the Test playing sides are allowed to field up to four senior national players over the stipulated age limit while the associate nations can send their full strength national teams. Nepal doesn't have a good record in the Emerging Teams Cup as it had lost all the matches in the first edition held in Singapore four years back. It failed to register a single win in the group stage given the three defeats out of three matches against U-23 teams of India and Pakistan alongside Afghanistan.
