P@lice @rrested Dr CK Raut from Janakpur
Kathmandu : Nepal P@lice on Thursday have @rrested CK Raut, who is active in the tarai demanding that the southern plains be separated from Nepal. "After the @rrest, he has been brought to Siraha District P@lice Office," said Superintendent of P@lice in Siraha, Sekhar Koirala.
Dr CK Raut was @rrested at a time when the government was being criticized for doing nothing to those who have been openly talking about disintegrating the country. Following complaints, Siraha district p@lice office had written to the Dhanusha district police, asking the latter to @rrest Raut on the charge of 'organized cr|me against the state'.
P@lice source told that Raut faces treason charges for his recent speech delivered in Lahan at a programme organised to mark the de@th anniversary of Ramesh Mahato, who was the first person to lose life in the Madhesh agitation.
A full bench of Special Court in April, 2015 had acquitted him of sedition charge levelled against him by the Morang District Attorney’s Office after he was @rrested from Morang on September 14, 2014. He was released in November that year after paying Rs 50,000 in bail.
At a function organized on the premises of Pashupati Adarsha Higher Secondary School on January 18, Raut had spoken for about 11 minutes in which he had publicly stated that the tarai should seceded from Nepal.
