India | After a long wait Indian players finally got their new coach. In early June, BCCI advertised for the post of a head coach. A total of 57 candidates applied for the lucrative post.

BCCI later in an advertisement mentioned candidates who know Hindi will get a preference. After this advertisement, BCCI almost made it clear that they will choose an Indian coach breaking the tradition of last decade. The high-profile Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) comprising Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly and VVS Laxman completed the interview process in Kolkata on Tuesday, where they interviewed six to seven candidates.
Legendary Indian spinner Anil Kumble has become the new Indian coach. Kumble is currently the chief of ICC’s Cricket Committee and also a commentator. He also played the role of mentor for IPL franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore and Mumbai Indians.

Kumble has been given a one year contract, as announced by BCCI President Anurag Thakur in a press conference.
