Kings XI Punjab vs Rising Pune Supergiant match preview : Live Stream Details

Kathmandu : Kings XI Punjab will host the Rising Pune Supergiants in the first of two matches to be played today. Australia batsman Glenn Maxwell, who has never led any team in the 340 recognised matches he has played across formats, will debut as captain for Kings XI. Pune will be up against Kings XI, a team looking to make amends for finishing last in the previous two seasons.

Punjab have finished at the bottom of the table for the last two seasons and will be looking to change their fortunes this time around. Kings XI would also miss their India opener Murali Vijay, who has been replaced with pacer Ishant Sharma. With batsmen like David Miller, skipper Glenn Maxwell, Martin Guptill, Eoin Morgan, Hashim Amla, Wriddhiman Saha, Shaun Marsh, the Punjab side won’t be facing much trouble in creating a batting line up that can rip apart the opposition.

Pune's batting looks strong. Ajinkya Rahane (60 off 34) looked to be in ominous touch and at the top of the order, the right-handed batsman provides consistency and solidity. Stokes, Smith and Mahendra Singh Dhoni will also shoulder responsibility.
