Kathmandu : Nepal will face India in the semi-finals of the 4th SAFF Women's Championship underway in Siliguri of India today. The match Kickoff at the14:15 NST Kanchenjunga Stadium in Siligudi.
Nepal go into the semi-finals with 100 percent winning record, who advanced to the semis as winners of Group A will face runners-up of the Group B, India. Nepal won all three matches in the group stage and the coach was optimistic about getting similar kind of result tomorrow. "We have been consistent with our performance and i see the same result coming our way tomorrow. We have put our plans to perfection and tomorrow is going to be the same.", said Thapa.

Nepal are drawn in Group ‘A’ along with Sri Lanka, Maldives and Bhutan. While defending Champions India suffered a minor glitch in a goalless draw against Bangladesh that cost them the top place in their group. Nepal can take heart from the fact that they are in a very good scoring form with star striker Sabitra Bhandari also accounting for 10 goals in three games.

Nepal, which had lost the final match of the inaugural edition in 2010 with a goal margin of 1-0, hasn't been able to give tough challenge to India lately as it lost the finals of 2012 and 2014 with scorelines of 3-1 and 6-0 respectively.

Nepal coach Kumar Thapa was optimistic that his side will be able to get the same results as in their league campaign. “So far we have been very consistent but against India, our defenders must be very careful,” said the former Manang Marshayangdi Club and Nepali international midfielder Thapa. Thapa believed India were very strong attacking unit but took positives. “If Bangladesh were able to stop them from scoring in their last game, why can’t we do the same in the semi-finals,” added Thapa. “We will play to our potential and get what we have done so far in the tournament.”
