Nepali cricket team announced for England tour

Kathmandu | The selection committee formed under International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the Nepali Cricket squad under the captainship of Paras Khadka, for Nepal’s upcoming tour of England. The ICC selection committee that included ICC representative Venkatapathi Raju, National Team Head Coach Jagat Tamata and national skipper Paras Khadka has selected a 15-member squad for Nepal’s England tour.

Nepali team will be playing against England-based Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) on July 19. Bikram Sob has secured a place in the national team for the first time and Subash Khakurel and Anil Mandal are making a comeback to the national team.

This is the first participation of the national team following the suspension of the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) by the ICC owing to internal conflicts. ICC itself has been taking care of the Nepali Cricket Team since then.

Gyanendra Malla, Shakti Gauchhan, Basanta Regmi, Sharad Vesawakar, Sompal Kami, Sagar Pun, Binod Bhandari Kiran KC, Sandip Lamichhane, Raju Rijal and Rajesh Pulami Magar are other players who have made it to the national squad.

The MCC match is expected to warm up the Nepal squad for their two matches against the Netherlands under the ICC World Cricket League Championship, scheduled for August.
