President Bidya Devi Bhandari's India Visit

Kathmandu : Nepal President Bidya Devi Bhandari landed at the Indira Gandhi International Airport, New Delhi on Monday morning as she embarked on her maiden visit to India. It is the President’s first foreign visit since her election to the top post in October 2015.
India's Minister of State for Women and Child Development Krishna Raj received President Bhandari at the airport. Prior to this, Nepal’s Ambassador for India Deep Kumar Upadhyay welcomed the President. President Bhandari will lead a 34-member team . The president’s delegation from Kathmandu comprised Minister for Foreign Affaiors (MoFA) Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat, Foreign Secretary Shanker Das Bairagi, Minister for Peace and Reconstruction Sita Devi Yadav , advisors to President and other officials of the Government of Nepal, and mediapersons.
The visit is yet another important event in the continuation of high-level engagements between the political leadership of the two countries. The Visit will contribute to further consolidate close and friendly relations that exist between the two countries. The Nepal government has announced a public holiday today on the occasion of the President’s india visit.
