Nepal played a goalless draw against Timor Leste

Kathmandu : Nepal on Saturday played a goalless draw with Timor Leste in the Group A match of the AFC Solidarity Cup at the Stadium Negeri in Kuching, Malaysia.​Nepal squandered some good chances to score that saw Nepal settled on one point.Nepal will play against Brunei on Tuesday. Two teams each from group-A will qualify for the semifinal berth. Timor Leste, who lost its previous game, is already out of the competition having failed to even score in two consecutive games. Nepal can qualify to the semifinals with a draw again but will be hoping to win against Brunei to ensure top four spot. Nepal had defeated Timor Leste 2-1 and 5-0 in 2014 AFC World Cup qualifying matches held in Kathmandu. Nepal, Pakistan, Brunei, Sri Lanka, Macau and Mongolia made exits from the 2018 Fifa World Cup first round qualifiers. Laos, Bangladesh, Timor-Leste were eliminated from the second round playoff of the 2019 AFC Asian Cup qualifiers. But Pakistan and Bangladesh opted out of the event.
